Description:: This report by the Reform group claims the A-level exam has become hollow preparation for university, by undermining independent study and original thought. The researchers found that candidates are led through the exam and that students are high maintenance, seeking constant advice. The report looks at the development of A-levels and recommends that universities be put in charge of the exams to restore their academic rigour.
