- The Primary Review is an independent inquiry which is looking at 10 major themes before publishing final recommendations in October 2008. This briefing provides an overview of the latest four Primary Review Research Reports published in February 2008 which suggest that the effects of an increasing government control of the curriculum between 1988 and 2007 has led to a narrowing of the curriculum and a decrease in the quality of English primary schooling.
