Whatever you may think of Gove’s Ebacc qualifications, Ofsted will now be looking at school performance in terms of the Ebacc and, in particular, performance in maths and English. The only feasible strategy for schools which have a high proportion of children who traditionally struggle with these two critical subjects is to develop strategies for numeracy and literacy across the curriculum.
