Parent Survey

This new survey, conducted by polling company Populus on behalf of Becta, shows that although there is a gulf between what parents want for their children and the reality, classroom technology has come a long way with internet access on the rise and many classrooms using interactive whiteboards rather than the chalkboards of previous generations. Staying Safe Action Plan

This action plan sets out the work which the Government will take forward over the next three years to drive improvements in children and young people’s safety, which will be measured by the new Public Service Agreement to improve children and young people’s safety. The action plan sets out new commitments on children’s safety, including a new £18m home safety equipment scheme targeted at vulnerable areas, a Child Safety Education Coalition and a new National Safeguarding Unit for the Third Sector. Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives

This cross-Government strategy for England outlines how the government will develop a programme to support people to maintain a healthy weight. The aim is to be the first major nation to reverse the rising tide of obesity and overweight in the population by making sure that everyone is able to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Workforce Remodelling Study

This new research from Select Education shows the impact of workforce remodelling and the effect on staffing extended schools. The research shows the importance and ability of non-teaching staff to support education and the curriculum, by highlighting that the majority of roles needed to support teaching and learning through services such as extended schools programmes are non-teaching.
